Glad you asked! We did a study in 2009 on the differences in click-through rates between ad-free article pages and ad-supported article pages. It quickly became clear that the pages without ads on them sent an average of almost 75% more visitors to the author's resource links! This means that if you were to get 100 clicks on an ad-supported page, you would get 175 clicks from an ad-free page.
Think about this for just a moment. Most of your article click-throughs (to your website) are coming from Internet users who are looking for your solution to their problem - what we call targeted traffic. These are the people who are most likely to purchase your product or service.
Now think of the difference between 100 targeted visitors and 175 of them! Are you beginning to see the advantage of ad-free article pages?
And not only did the click-through rates increase, but the sales rates consequently increased as well.
No Ads = More Targeted Traffic = More Sales
And if this isn't enough to make you understands the benefits of ad-free article pages, think about this...
Those ads are strategically placed by the article directory owners to get as many people to click on them as possible.
